Recent experience having 2 vehicles completely destroyed in garage fire. Real Insce handled both claims very efficiently by paying out on 1 car and replacing 2nd car with brand new vehicle due to it being under 1 year old. It was delivered to the nominated address 19 days after claim was lodged.

Disappointed in the amount of time taken to settle the claim.
My 75 year old mother has been waiting 5 weeks for a settlement letter following her car being deemed a total loss. It took 4 weeks to receive the payout and we STILL don't have the settlement letter which is required by the RMS. Ridiculous!

Still competitive even though it was poor experience obtaining it.
I'm a long time member & multi-policy holder and was looking forward to talking to someone at Real to purchase car insurance for our new family car, was spoken too with a polite manner in retrieving my information yet was treated like a number very quickly. The event of purchasing our new car with my family went from an exciting memorable family time to a very stressful drawn out repetitive night where not only I was left feeling anxious but the people at Hyundai where also feeling our pain in trying to make me and my children feel as comfortable as possible during this and trying to close their business down for the evening while their cleaners were working around me at the same time, just a bit embarrassing for us. Must say I was little disappointed, not a great memory. In addition if I'm to look up a quote online out of curiosity because I have not insured this type of car before and wanted to see what I would be looking at for insurance cover and I see one quote and then only a couple of days later when it comes to the day of purchase and I prefer speaking with a person rather than a computer because a computer doesn't know that you're a multi-policy holder and you get on the phone and not only has the quote for exactly the same criteria has increased by nearly $250 but after you have given all of your details to the customer support person and you still have to remind them you're a multi-policy holder they give you that discount which is still $150 higher than the online quote you got only two days prior? I hope that you take this on board for the sake of your other customers as I don't wish this experience on anyone else. All the best.

My rating is not directly related to Customer Service Officers. They tried their best and I do appreciate that. My issue was with the online system setup penalizing drivers at no fault the same way as drivers at fault by 50% premium increase. I was not satisfied with explanation sent to me by email. A couple days later when I was looking for policy with other insurance companies I discovered by chance that my quote has been readjusted and the 50% premium increase disappeared. I do not understand why Real Insurance has not contacted me with the information. In took the policy because it suites me but I suppose Real lost many customers due to the system setup.
